Lindsay Lohan didn’t do herself any favors on Friday (October 16) when she showed up more than an hour late to a probation hearing in Beverly Hills. Lohan was in court for a progress review on her two DUI cases, and after hearing an explanation from the actress’ lawyer about why she had failed to complete the required alcohol education classes as required by her existing three-year probation, the judge tacked another year on. The troubled actress, 23, described as solemn and gaunt, wearing a white sport coat over a white long-sleeve shirt and black pants, held attorney Shawn Chapman Holley’s hand as they walked into the courtroom, according to People.com. Judge Marsha N. Revel asked for an explanation of why she had been getting notices that Lohan might be in violation of the terms of her probation. Holley explained that there had been a miscommunication when Lohan failed to notify instructors at an alcohol management class that she would be returning after she completed some work outside the U.S. Revel told Holley that Lohan must get prior court approval the next time she leaves Los Angeles for work and warned that a failure to comply strictly with the conditions in the future could lead to jail time. Lohan was sentenced to three years’ probation after her second DUI conviction in August 2007. “I ordered you into court today because I wanted to speak to you directly,” Revel told Lohan, according to People.com. “I don’t want to get any more notices again, no warrants … where you’re thumbing your nose at the court.” Despite her tough words, the judge added, “I’m rooting for you to successfully complete probation.” E! News reported that the judge also clarified that the actress, who was recently in Paris for a panned debut of her Ungaro fashion line, must ask for the temporary permission to leave for legitimate purposes, not “to go shopping … not to go vacationing.” Holley explained that Lohan has been busy filming a movie in Texas, working on a documentary about child trafficking in India for the BBC, recording an album and working on her fashion line. “This is the last time we will be talking about re-enrolling,” the judge said. “Anytime you request a leave of absence for more than 21 days, you must get court approval. If you don’t do that, the deputy district attorney will be asking for jail time.” TMZ added that Lohan has attended only 15 of 26 individual alcohol education classes, 13 of 26 group classes and 13 of 28 self-help sessions required by her probation. Lohan did not speak in court except to say “yes” when the judge asked if she understood the proceedings. A December 15 date was set for a progress hearing. It wasn’t her fault, guys! You heard all the reports about how Lindsay Lohan’s Ungaro fashion show in Paris was horribly panned by the critics. It was basically a big disaster. Well, now Lindsay is speaking up and letting us know why the show didn’t exactly go as planned. And never fear, Lindsay Lohan will have another opportunity to make up for her mess of a fashion show in Paris. Because Ungaro certainly didn’t fire her and she actually has another fashion show coming up. Smart, Ungaro, smart. Although, maybe it’s not their worst idea ever. After all, when have you ever heard the name “Ungaro” more than you have since Lindsay Lohan joined the team? And Lindsay claims the fashion show bomb wasn’t totally her fault. She blames it on, “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” Well, Lindsay, haven’t you learned if you don’t have time to perfect something, you probably shouldn’t put your name on it? Remember the models wearing nipple tassels at Lindsay’s show? She tells People magazine that wasn’t her fault! Lindsay claims, “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out.” So, is Lindsay trying to blame the fiasco on Ungaro instead of herself? Lindsay Lohan also claims that she’s “still learning.” No kidding. But generally you wouldn’t agree to do a huge Paris fashion show when you are “still learning.” Why not wait until you’re more comfortable and then do your big debut? So, now we can look forward to Lindsay Lohan’s next Ungaro show, which will be in Paris in January. But our hopes aren’t up too much. After all, Lindsay said to People, “It’s already in January… I thought it was in March.” Better get working, Lindsay! Michael Lohan says he can’t even look at his famous daughter Lindsay. Lohan appeared on Friday’s “Maury Povich Show” in a desperate attempt to reach out to his famous and troubled daughter, reports UsMagazine.com. “There’s nothing left of her. I was out in L.A. with her about three weeks ago when she got robbed,” he said. “She called me up at 3:30 a.m. and said, ‘Daddy, come out here.’ I flew out and couldn’t even look at her. I had to go outside and cry. When I hugged her, it’s just a hollow, hollow person.” Lohan was visibily upset during the appearance. “Lindsay, I love you with all my heart and … I am not going to bury you,” he said. “You’re going to bury me before this is over. I will do anything and everything I have to to save your life…You’re not in the right state of mind.” Meanwhile, 23-year-old Lindsay got an extra year’s probation for showing up to a Beverly Hills court Friday an hour and a half late. After being arrested for driving under the influence in 2007, the actress made a plea bargain that included 3 years probation, treatment, and community service. But according to LiLo, everything is fine. “Everything is good. I am in a really good place. I’ve been working a lot,” she told UsMagazine.com Thursday. “I literally slept the entire day yesterday. I woke up, and it was like 10 o’clock at night. I was like, ‘I have stuff to do!’” Dark forces are keeping Lindsay Lohan from being with her true love. But where there’s a broken heart, there’s a Twitter account just begging for an outburst. “I’m in love with her, as she is with me,” writes poor LiLo of Samantha Ronson. But it’s that darn Ronson clan who is keeping these star-crossed lovers apart. “Her family will cut her off if she contacts me…they hate her brilliance&resent her happiness.” We’re gonna go out on a limb here and suggest that Ma and Pa Ronson might be a lot more sympathetic, Linds, if you weren’t giving the world constant updates on the state of your relationship with Sam and her fam. And he has vowed to get her off the meds.
And he blames prescribed drugs for her failed film career.
