“@ChrisBrown killed it,” Lohan tweeted following his Spider-Man influenced performance that went light on vocals and heavy on gravity defying choreography. Breezy retweeted Lohan’s kind words, which led her to send a message his way asking “Wanna meet?” Ballsy! And that’s just one of the public messages. Brown has yet to respond (publicly) to Lohan, but being that Twitter has become the be all and end all of communication, it’s only a matter of time before the whirlwind romance begins and Lohan starts to pop up on select dates on his upcoming tour. All it takes is a few direct messages back and forth, and they have so much in common. Plus, Breezy already has an advantage over other artists, having withheld from dropping her name in one of his songs for an easy punchline. While each come with more red flags than most, we’d accept this union with open arms, if only for the failed attempt at image rehabilitation entertainment we can also enjoy: he can help her with her dance moves, and she can tell him what to wear during any impending court dates. ‘Cause lately Lindsay Lohan has been staring in her very own courtroom drama instead of on the big screen where she belongs (tear). Her latest run-in with the L.A. legal system? Suing Pitbull for mentioning her time in the clink in one of his hit songs. So what does one powerful Hollywood lawyer type think LL’s chances of winning are? Nada! “She absolutely doesn’t have a valid case,” an in-the-know lawyer tells us. So why the suit? Does LiLo simply want a chance to play the plaintiff instead of the defendant? Maybe. But this probably has to do with getting some cold hard cash the easy way instead of, ya know, doing her day job… acting. “The same lawyer sued over her incredibly dubious “milkoholic” misappropriation claim against E*Trade,” our lawyer pal continues. “And managed to get her settlement dollars.” Remember that silly E*Trade commercial with the adorable babies that happened to name the “milkoholic” baby Lindsay? Well that ordeal ended up settling, which means cha-ching for Linds. Could the case with Pitbull be the sequel? While we are not the go-to-source for outstanding parental practices, we certainly know that our girl Linds is in need of some seriously sound advice from Dina Lohan. And no, downing three bottles of wine with your Betty Ford-visiting daughter may not be exactly what she needs right now. Just an observation. Let’s be real, LL, if money is what you need, let us first suggest taking Pitbull up on his offer to have you as his date at this weekend’s VMA’s. Hey, you know what they say—a girls gotta eat.
Pitbull and Lindsay Lohan may currently be at odds over the lyrics of “Give Me Everything,” but the rapper has extended an olive branch to the oft-troubled actress … in the form of an invitation to this Sunday’s Video Music Awards. That’s what Mr. 305 said in a statement posted Thursday (August 25) on his Planet Pit website, in which he addressed the lawsuit Lohan filed last week that alleges the lyrics of his hit — in particular, the line “I got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan” — are “destined to do irreparable harm” to the actress’ career. Pit wants it known that he hopes the two sides can hash out their differences at the VMAs. “We’ll be performing ['Give Me Everything] at the VMAs, and, as a matter of fact, I’d like to send out an invitation to Lindsay Lohan,” Pitbull said. “Hopefully she can come with me to the VMAs, and we can figure this out.” Pitbull also said he was “very surprised” when he first learned of the lawsuit, especially since he considers “Give Me Everything” — and his mention of Lohan — to be positive. “It was very ironic, to be honest with you. At first I read it and I was like, ‘Nah, this has got to be a joke,’ [but] come to find out it’s very realistic,” he said. “Me being someone who supports Lindsay Lohan’s career, where I’ve seen her go through everything she’s gone through, and everything that has to do with this record is so positive — you see the way I start off the record, where I say, ‘I took my life from negative to positive/ I just want y’all to know that’ — when I mention Lindsay Lohan in the record, it was really a positive message. “[The lyric] is ‘Hustlers move in silence, so I’m tip-toeing/ So keep blowing, got it locked up like Lindsay Lohan,’ ” Pitbull continued. “When I say I got it locked up, if you’re from the neighborhood, when they say, ‘You got it locked up’ that means you run that area.” And as far as Lohan’s claims that the song has caused her — and her career — irreparable harm, Pitbull said that he never intended to hurt anybody … quite the opposite, in fact. “In no way, shape or form would I want to bring that on anybody. I didn’t look to defame, degrade or hurt someone’s career,” he said. “For me, mentioning it on a #1 record around the world, I thought it would be helping someone’s career, and keeping them relevant. We mention people’s names all the time; when it comes to rapping, it’s always about double meanings and metaphors and how you flip certain things.” Pitbull added that he’s not sure what the next step in the legal process would be (“That has to come with the attorneys,” he said). But who knows? Perhaps things will be patched up after Sunday’s VMAs. “It shows that success comes with a whole lot,” Pit said. “And I always say, as hard as you work to succeed in this music business, there’s four or five people working harder to take it all away from you.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. In the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Lohan and her attorney, Stephanie Ovadia, claim that the line “by virtue of its wide appeal, condemnation, excoriation, disparaging or defamatory statements by the defendants about the plaintiff are destined to do irreparable harm to the plaintiff.” Lohan — who, it is noted in the suit, is “a professional actor of good repute and standing in the Screen Actors Guild” — is suing under the New York civil-rights laws, which protects individuals from having their name exploited for commercial purposes. The suit seeks an injunction to stop all the defendants — in addition to Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Afrojack, who wrote “Give Me Everything,” are named — from broadcasting the song. It also seeks unspecified damages. A spokesperson for Pitbull had no comment on the suit when reached by MTV News. Lohan filed a similar suit — reportedly seeking $100 million in damages — against financial services company E-Trade last year after the company aired a Super Bowl commercial that referred to a baby as “That milkaholic Lindsay.” The suit was withdrawn in September, with E-Trade reportedly paying Lohan “a confidential sum.” The “Give Me Everything” lyric was in reference to Lohan’s July 2010 stint in Los Angeles County Jail, when she served 13 days of a three-month sentence for violating probation on a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence.
Get More: Pitbull, Music, More Music Videos It was already pretty well-documented that Lindsay Lohan wasn’t totally lonely while spending 35 days under house arrest at her Venice pad. But it turns out that one of her guests was a nattily dressed little guy named Rico. He’s got sleepy green eyes, a couple of pointy teeth and you just want to hug him! Wait, what? Lohan put her lack of mobility to good use by shooting a video for Air New Zealand’s ongoing marketing campaign, “On the SkyCouch With Rico,” in which the furry fella interviews celebrity guests in that tongue-in-cheek fashion that’s all the rage now. While we’re not sure how being confined to your home translates into “come fly with me,” Lohan did have some good insight for the inquisitive Rico, who admitted to the actress that he was crushing on Kim Kardashian. “Well, she’s very pretty,” Lindsay agreed. “I’m sure you could be friends…I’m sure she’d love the fur, maybe not the fangs.” Rico, who managed a lot more questions than Matt Lauer did, also asked about the annoying paparazzi. “They take pictures of you shopping, eating, kissing lady friends,” he said, to which Lohan just replied with a nod and a shake of her head. In the nearly 5-minute video, Rico also attempts to hypnotize Lohan, but he does way too good a job and just puts her to sleep. “I guess it’s nap time,” he shrugged. In closing, Rico also presented Lohan with a couple of necklaces, courtesy of Air New Zealand. “Don’t worry, they’re all paid for,” he assured her. |
